Yesterday, officials led by the Minister of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Adham Ikramov, and the Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), First Deputy Chairman of the National Olympic Committee, Otabek Umarov, conducted an inspection in the Jizzakh region. The working group was accompanied by the regional hokim, Ergash Saliev.
Initially, the NOC leadership visited a specialized sports school for WT taekwondo in the town of Dashtabad. It is noteworthy that Ozoda Sobirjonova, a participant in the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, is one of the graduates of this institution. The officials met with our athlete and other athletes training in the facility, discussing their future plans and the conditions created for their training.
Subsequently, the working group inspected sports schools in the Zamin and Zarbdar districts. They evaluated the created conditions, the training schedule for students, the material and technical base, and provided relevant recommendations to enhance the efficiency of the working process.
During their visit, the leaders also reviewed the cycling complex in Jizzakh, specializing in BMX, the sports schools in the Sharaf Rashidov and Dustlik districts, and outlined tasks to attract even more youth to sports.
As in every region, special attention was given to the activities of the Center for Training in Olympic and Paralympic Sports of the Jizzakh region. During the visit to the regional football academy, a meeting was held with experts in the field. The meeting facilitated an exchange of views with representatives of regional sports federation branches and other specialists in preparation for the new Olympic cycle.
