Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree appointing a new khokim for the Jizzakh region, as reported by the president's press secretary Sherzod Asadov.
Ergash Saliev is relieved of his duties due to his transition to another position. The region's administration will be led on an acting basis by Ulugbek Mustafaev, who previously headed "Regional Electric Networks."
Ulugbek Mavlonovich Mustafaev (born in 1968) graduated from the Tashkent Institute of National Economy (now Tashkent State Economic University) in 1991. Over the years, he has held various positions in government agencies, including the role of First Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank (2010 - 2016).
In 2016, he became the Deputy Khokim of the Jizzakh region for economic and social development, services, and entrepreneurship. From June 2017, he served as the Chairman of the Board of "Uzbekenergo," and after its division in 2019, he headed "Regional Electric Networks." In August of this year, he was awarded the title of "Honored Industrial Worker of Uzbekistan."
