As previously reported by Spot, Shavkat Mirziyoyev is holding a meeting to discuss the results of the work done this year and the main plans for 2025 regarding comprehensive support for entrepreneurship, as well as dialogue with leading entrepreneurs.
The President noted that Uzbekistan's accession process to the World Trade Organization is reaching its "final stage." Specifically, agreements have been reached with major countries such as the USA and China.
Additionally, this year several issues related to border crossings with neighboring countries have been resolved. The border posts "Khanabad," "Mingtepa," and "Korasuv" in the Andijan region, which had been closed for 13 years, have been reopened, as well as the checkpoint "Uchkurgan," which had not been operational for 8 years. As a result, the travel distance for residents and entrepreneurs has been reduced by 100 km.
Overall, in the last 11 months, the number of vehicles crossing the border has increased by 400,000 units, exceeding 3 million cars. In 2025, additional corridors will be built at the border posts "Gishtkuprik," "Navoi," "Davut-ota," "Shavot," and "Gulbahor," and their capacity will be increased fivefold.
Other topics addressed at the meeting included:
- banks will attract $6 billion from abroad for business loans;
- the excise tax on mobile communications will be canceled, and benefits for IT Park and private schools will be extended;
- Uzbekistan's GDP is planned to increase to $120 billion next year;
- a support center for access to international financial markets will be opened;
- Uzbekistan's mineral reserves are estimated at $1 trillion;
- the airports of Bukhara and Namangan will come under private management;
- there are plans to develop a project for a revised Customs Code.
